A DEBT counselling centre offering free advice to people struggling with their finances has been opened.

Christians Against Poverty is running the centre in partnership with Holy Trinity And St Matthias Church which is located  in Trinity Rise,Tulse Hill.

The centre will help people of all religious backgrounds become debt-free within four years by offering advice and negotiating with creditors. Centre manager Irene Rothwell said: "The worst thing someone in debt can do is stay silent, so I would urge anyone in financial difficulty to contact me.

Being in debt is nothing to be ashamed of and I know we can work together to provide a lasting solution."
